Machu Picchu Full Day Tour Summary

Itinerary Detailed: Tour to Machu Picchu 1 Day
Day 1: Full Day Tour
Early in the morning, at 5:00 a.m., we will transfer you from your hotel to the train station. At 7:20 a.m., we will board the train that passes through the Sacred Valley of the Incas until we reach the town of Aguas Calientes. In Aguas Calientes, we will take the bus that will transport us to the Machu Picchu Archaeological Park, located on top of a mountain. At 10:00 a.m., upon arrival at Machu Picchu, our guide will begin the guided tour so that you can learn more about the history and architecture of the Inca City of Machu Picchu. You will be amazed by the Inca constructions and temples, as well as the natural surroundings. The Sacred Sun Clock, the Royal Quarters, the Temple of the Three Windows, and more. Upon arriving at the Machu Picchu citadel, we will go through the entrance control, where we will present our tickets, allowing us to explore for more than two hours. You will then have free time to take a walk around the archaeological site before descending to the town of Aguas Calientes by bus to have lunch at approximately 2:00 p.m. in one of the many restaurants in Aguas Calientes, or if you prefer, at the Sanctuary Lodge Hotel (this must be arranged before returning to town). You will have the afternoon to explore the town of Aguas Calientes or visit the town's hot springs. In the evening, at 6:00 p.m., we will take the return train from Aguas Calientes to Ollantaytambo, where a transfer will be waiting to continue by bus back to Cusco.
